As part of the EU's 50th birthday celebrations, Malawian pupils in primary and secondary schools will vie for the honour of illustrating a poster and a postage stamp.
The children will be invited to submit their paintings/drawings inspired by the theme: "50th Anniversary of the European Union: thoughts about EU-Malawi friendship".
The competition is being organised by the EC Delegation in Malawi, and the two winning contributions will be printed as posters and feature on Malawian stamps.
Malawi is also celebrating the EU's half centenary with a European Culinary Festival promoting European food. In September, the cuisine of different European countries will be served for a week each at different restaurants in Lilongwe.
