Whether fantasy or reality, Europe remains a number-one destination in the dreams of young people in Africa.
The EU's Tanzania office is commissioning a play to take a light-hearted look at this phenomenon, poking fun at the expectations and myths that young people might have about going to Europe. The play will be in performed the mixture of English and Swahili - ‘Swanglish’ - popular among young people in Tanzania today. It will be written and performed by a local theatre troupe and shown at a theatre in Dar es Salaam.
