EU over the airwaves

For four weeks in March, speakers of Sinhala and English will be invited to listen along to a 15-minute radio show every Saturday evening on the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation’s islandwide services.

The series will offer detailed information about the EU's founding Treaty of Rome, telling the story of the treaty signed in 1957 and what it symbolises, and the history of the EU from 1945 until today, highlighting the main events. It will also take a look behind the scenes at how the 50th anniversary logo was selected and what it symbolises. At the end of each programme, the audience will have the opportunity to answer a question about something mentioned during the show. The chosen winner will receive a prize.

For more information on the Treaty of Rome and activities around the world, visit the EU delegation in Sri Lanka online and the EU's official 50th Anniversary site.
