To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the EU, the EU's office in Norway (delegation) and the German presidency are jointly organising a concert on Europe Day, 9 May.
The German percussionist Peter Sadlo will perform together with students from the Norwegian Academy of Music at the prestigious old Gamle Logen concert hall in Oslo.
The president of the Norwegian parliament, Thorbjørn Jagland, will be guest speaker at this occasion celebrating the role of the EU in the world.
On 12 May there will be a street festival in central Oslo to celebrate the 50th anniversary. The event will include a variety of cultural performances from all over the EU, speeches and a stand distributing information on the European project, seeking to reach the widest possible audience. A large EU birthday cake should also attract a number of hungry Saturday shoppers to the stand!
Other organisers include the Norwegian European Movement and most EU embassies in Norway.
