On 28 March 2007, the renowned Norddeutsche Rundfunk Symphony Orchestra will perform Beethoven’s third symphony (“Eroica”) at a unique gala concert in the General Assembly Hall of the United Nations.
Jointly sponsored by the European Commission Delegation to the United Nations and the German presidency of the EU, this occasion will commemorate the EU’s role in the world. Symbolically, what better place than New York, a truly international metropolis - in the heart of the world’s foremost international organisation, the UN - to celebrate 50 years of the EU?
