Regions and local administrations play an important role in improving energy efficiency and developing renewable energy sources. In spite of the strong interests of these key players, many projects fail due to the lack of money or the lack of knowledge of existing financial mechanisms.
The Committee of the Regions, in cooperation with the European Federation of Regional Energy and Environment Agencies, will provide a comprehensive overview of EU grants and private banking funds as well as examples of regional financing success stories.
The event is open to all interested parties from both the public and private sectors. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss new concepts and share knowledge on the existing financial instruments in the field of sustainable energy and energy efficiency.
The seminar will take place during the EU Sustainable Energy Week, a major event promoted by the European Commission. The Sustainable Energy Week is to take place in Brussels and other cities across Europe from Monday 29 January to Friday 2 February.
