Issues to be examined include regional policies of the EU and the enhancement of social cohesion through the Lisbon agenda and job creation. Also, the strengthening of culture as a parameter for better living conditions in insular areas, and increased employment in an enlarged Europe.
In the first panel dealing with the regional policy issues, the organisers, local authorities, MEPs, Members of the Representation of the EC and the Office of the EP will debate the various options.
The second panel on culture will mainly comprise artists, directors and journalists who will debate European programmes to finance regional development and culture.
