European society: identity, symbols and policies
International Conference
Conference
The conference will take a look at European society in the past and analyse its aspirations for the future. . The aim is not, however, to exalt it as a unique and extraordinary construction. Scholars with different academic backgrounds will give their opinions on the kind of European society actually borne of the fifty-year process of integration, i.e. concerning identity and policies.
One of the aims of the Conference will be to deal with what Europe in the past and look at what it wants to become.
It is possible to understand European society, provided one provides a non–ideological analysis of present and future challenges.
During the Conference, the results of a research paper entitled “Social territorial cohesion: an interpretative answer” carried out by the Braudel Centre under the DEDL-SDEC project, will be presented.
