On its 5th anniversary, the European Food Safety Agency (EFSA) will organise a full week of events (an “open day”, a scientific Round Table with the stakeholders, a scientific symposium at the University and an art competition in schools.
Parma is now the home of the European Food Safety Agency (EFSA), which had moved from Brussels in 2005. Since then, it has established very good relations with the local authorities and the local citizens. The local authority has organized different events, involving the citizens, to explain its role and its activities over the last few years. In 2007, EFSA will host a series of events with the local community as well as the local scientific community.
- A conference at Parma University to promote dialogue with the scientific community, in particular with scientists, researchers and other bodies involved in risk evaluation.
- An EFSA exhibition and information stands will be open to the public the entire week: moreover open days will also be organized at EFSA.
- A round table will take place on food safety in the heart of Parma, and will include an open debate between EFSA scientists and the citizens of Parma.
