The European Commission Representation in Latvia and the German Presidency organises a conference in Riga on 50 years of EU cooperation and future of the EU. High level personalities and policy makers will take part in the event. The objective of the conference is to bring public attention to bear on the objectives of the European Union and to analyse the achievements of the Union. The main theme will be why this date is of significance to Latvia, despite the fact that the country joined the EU merely three years ago.
