In the new premises of the Foreign Ministry, its historic chambers and two exhibitions can be visited: The exhibition ”A path through Europe” traces 50 years of European cooperation and addresses perspectives of common challenges lying ahead. In an interactive question & answer module visitors can express their opinions on the most important European issues and check their knowledge of the European Union.
Works of the Austrian photographer Erich Lessing provide an insight into the lives of Europeans during the last five decades. In addition, short films of young Europeans and well-known filmmakers will be shown. And visitors can vote on a new logo for the Foreign Ministry – recently renamed Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs.
Simultaneously, on the Minoritenplatz in front of the Foreign Ministry, performances of school bands and the popular ”Wiener Tschuschenkapelle” will take place.
Furthermore, an Open Day will take place in the Federal Chancellery, while Embassies of EU Member States will present themselves within the framework of a “Europe Rallye”.
The programme of the Open Day at the Foreign Ministry includes:
- Exhibition “A path through Europe”;
- Photo exhibition of Erich Lessing;
- Short films by young Europeans and famous film-makers.
