50 years of the Treaty of Rome and what's next ?New Year’s meeting with the Commissioner Danuta HübnerConference
The objective of this meeting is to use the upcoming 50th Anniversary of the Treaty of Rome in order to share the views on the two main EU-related issues: the future of the European Union and the European Commission communications priorities for 2007. The meeting will have two parts: a formal one composed of the speeches, an informal one that will be devoted to an informal discussion. The meeting will be opened by the Head of European Commission Representation in Poland, Róża Thun. Afterwards the Commissioner Danuta Hübner will deliver a speech on the future of the European Union. This speech is the highlight of the evening. It will be followed by Mr Mikołaj Dowgielewicz’ s speech on the European Commission communications priorities and a short speech about the winning logo marking the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome by Szymon Skrzypczak (the author of the logo). Abovementioned speeches will provide framework and valuable starting point for informal discussion with the invited participants. Head of European Commision Representation in Poland, Róża Thun spontaneously invited Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Anna Fotyga, the Ambassador of Germany to Poland, Dr Reinhold Schweppe to join her, Commissioner Danuta Hübner, Spokesperson for the European Commission Mikołaj Dowgielewicz on stage and welcome the participants of the meeting.
