European and Romanian Values

24 parish priests from Romanian rural areas will participate in an innovative seminar organised by the “Lucian Blaga” University of Sibiu and the Romanian Orthodox Archiepiscopate of Sibiu, on the theme of European values.

The event is part of the largest project “EU, integration and the Church”, and aim to develop a network able to effectively disseminate European information among citizens living in Romanian rural areas.

The main themes of the conference are:

  • The definition of the term “values”;
  • The internationalisation and modification of the concept of “values” at individual and social levels;
  • Common European values;
  • Examples of best practices at community level.

Comparative research on the topic of ‘the common set of European values “Romania in the European context” (tolerance, democratic values, religiosity and religious practices, trust, civic society involvement, solidarity)’ will be presented during the seminar.
