'European Integration and the Treaty of Rome'

This Faculty lecture will look at the way in which Europe was reconstructed after the Second World War and will give some insight into how the policies implicit to the Treaty of Rome reflected the successes of economic redevelopment after the devastation of war.

It will assess the progress that became a feature of 1950s Europe and will place this within the context of the integrated economic infrastructure that was framed by the Treaty.

This event is an extraordinary lecture to be given by Dr Gerard McCann, Senior Lecturer in European Studies, and is principally for Erasmus students and students of European Studies at St Mary's College, Queens University Belfast. The lecture will involve a presentation and open discussion among students from 13 European countries. Faculty members and their guests will also be attending.
