Happy birthday Erasmus!

This event will be a great gathering of current and former Erasmus students and members of the Erasmus Student Network. Thoughts will be shared between them and representatives from the European Institutions. The role of Erasmus Students in the European Society will be discussed and seminars will be mixed with celebrations.

In the celebrations for the 20 Anniversary of Erasmus Programme, The Erasmus Student Network (ESN) will organise a couple of events. The purpose is to show the importance of Erasmus and demonstrate how exchange between other cultures can create a stronger Europe.

The Opening Conference in Brussels is hosted by Committee of Regions. This event will be a great gathering of current and former Erasmus students and ESN members, who will have a chance to pass opinions and comments on Erasmus to European Stakeholders. These will be represented by the Vice President of European Commission, Margot Wallström and by Jan Figel', Member of the European Commission in charge of Education, President of the Committee of the Regions as well as Members of the European Parliament.

Particular attention will be given to the actual implementation of the programme, by giving floor to the voices of the 20.000 respondents to the 2005 and 2006 ESN Survey on Exchange Students’ Rights, and by creating a dialogue between them and the European Commission.

The programme for the conference includes seminars as well as a birthday party. The tentative programme is available on the web site

The results of the conference will be published in the booklet with the outcomes of the 20 Anniversary of Erasmus Programme.
