The conference is organized in a two days’ debate. 9th February, 3 p.m. : “Stock taking after 50 years, a path to identity”. 10th February, 9.30 a.m.: “Future challenges and prospects  for the European identity”

After going through the main steps and successes of the European integration process, the conference will open a debate on future prospects, with particular regard to citizens’ rights and to models for social and economic development.

The two meetings will deal with the issue of the European identity, also in relation to geographical borders, by trying to answer the question:” What does that mean to be European today?”. The main critical issues will be tackled: the future of the Constitutional Treaty, the enlargement process and the Turkish accession, immigration, European external and security policy.
